Job Summary:DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, a leading healthcare
provider, is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our
team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing
diagnostic MRI exams, utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, and
working closely with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses.Key
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure
exam appropriateness.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history
and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including risks, benefits,
alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
- Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions
from established protocols, and communicate data to
radiologists.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to
patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities within radiology
practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat
analysis, and patient satisfaction.
- Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists,
and new employees.Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you
will need:
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Technologists (ARMRIT).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support -
Healthcare Provider (BLS) training.
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
(ARRT) in Radiology (R) or advanced certification in Magnetic
Resonance Imaging (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance
Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).Skills Required:You will need:
- Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most
age-appropriate method of providing requested radiographs specific
to patient's physical ability and/or limitations.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with
and instruct patients who may be under physical/emotional
stress.
- Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized
equipment and computers.
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex
environment, handle multiple/changing priorities.
- Knowledge and understanding of American College of Radiology
requirements for accreditation.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and
positioning of patients.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate and utilize all
types of imaging equipment and supplies in order to produce images
of acceptable diagnostic quality.Employment practices will not be
